About Me

I’m Laurel Parks, a fiddler/violinist and teacher who’s enjoyed an exciting career as a musician...AFTER overcoming debilitating stage fright that left me avoiding performance at all costs.  Since then, I’ve gotten to perform with artists such as Sarah McLaughlan, Distrubed, Amy Grant, Josh Groban and Evanesence.  My own music is signed to two record labels: one in the US and the other in Germany. In addition to traveling through Europe with my rock band, I’ve toured all over Asia with a pops orchestra.  I’ve recorded strings for Hulu and Universal Pictures in addition to laying string tracks for countless bands and corporate clients.  I’ve been a musician on the road, in the concert halls and at late night music venues.  I currently write, record and concertize with The Wires, a modern string duo and also with my dark Indie band Of Tree.  I also teach Drunken Fiddles - a workshop for adult beginners want to learn to play the fiddle.  When I’m not being involved with something music related you can find me obsessed with reading self-help books, listening to podcasts, meditating, running and doing yoga.
