Summer Strings Retreat - What's New!

Registration is officially open for our Summer Strings Retreat, happening September 11th, 12th, and 13th at Greenwood Social Hall in Kansas City!

If you've been around Drunken Fiddles for a while, you might be familiar with the format of our seasonal strings retreats in the past - but for this event, we're really taking things to the next level. Think about it like a mini international retreat, where we'll focus on providing you ample opportunity for connection, community, PLAYING, and fun!

One of the main ways we're doing that is with the addition of the Drunken Fiddles House. In the past, participants have attended the event through the day, then have dispersed in the evening to do their own things. While some like to have that flexibility (and it will still be an option, introverts!) we wanted to take inspiration from our international retreats and facilitate a space for further community time and jam sessions. The house has numerous rooms available for reservation if you'd like to stay as part of the group, or simply feel free to come over for the evening to socialize and play together.

Another way we've expanded the experience is the incorporation of two group meals. Gathering together in this way is such a great way to connect with and get to know each other, especially when you have a shared love of music and fiddle, so we will be providing a few opportunities to do just that. On Friday night, we'll have a pizza dinner as part of the Celtic Concert. Then, on Saturday night we'll enjoy a catered dinner together. We hope this time will give you a chance to slow down, connect, and enjoy your time together!

Our retreat session schedule is jam packed per usual, with our time dedicated to providing you as much hands-on playing time as possible. Drunken Fiddles instructors Laurel & Sascha will be leading multiple intensives and will be joined by several guests including Grace Broadhead, Elana James, Calvin Arsenia, and Shane Borth. Our goal is for each participant to walk away with skills that will take them beyond knowing just WHAT to play, but to truly develop their skills as musicians.

Additional details are available on the registration page, but please contact [email protected] if you have any questions - hope to see you there!
